Islanders 1 vs Canadians 5

2nd Period

Another rough period and still down by a good deficit. The goal scoring started quickly as
Tanguay scored at 1:11 to make it 3-0 early. two minutes later Andrei Markov scored to widen the gap to 4 zip in montreal's favor. The ensueing faceoff lead to a fast fight between Joe Rechlicz and Georges Laraque in which Laraque took Rechlicz down very quickly. At 9:05 the Islanders were able to finally get on the board on an unassited goal by Tambellini making it 4-1. After the goal the Islander have picked up their play pressuring the habs but still have nothing to show for it.
1st Period

A rough start for the Islanders as once again Islanders country has been invaded by Habs fan. The period started well as the isels were able to put pressure on the habs and getting some scoring chances early. With Price out due to illness, Jaroslav Halak has steped up making save after save keeping the Islanders off the board. On the other side Danis wasn't so lucky, following a 2 minute charging call on Comeau Koivu scored a the power play goal at 13:03 off a face off win in the Isles zone. The bad luck continued just 7 seconds after a cross checking call on Tim Jackmen, Mathieu Schneider scored a goal on light shot that redirected off Martinek's stick giving the Habs a 2-0 lead.
